For employers Be part of the discussion

Through focused green skills summits and the Green Skills Pledge, we are keen to keep employers and businesses in Essex up to date with resourcing and information related to green skills.

The Essex County Council Employability and Skills team offer a range of services to support employers.

Seize your opportunity

In 2019, there were 2,933 green jobs in Essex. This is expected to grow to 5,751 by 2030. An increasing number of careers now require green credentials and skills.

We recognise that we must have a system that delivers the right local skills to support Essex to grow as a centre for innovation, which encourages new technologies and business models. This will enable our economy to transition to net zero and secure green jobs for the future.

The route to positioning yourself in this competitive market is by making sure that your workforce’s skills, including green skills, are up to date and relevant.

A greener future for Essex
